Hello, I'm Lorna. I'm a knitter, sewist and natural dyer living in the West of the UK. I'm passionate about working with natural fibres, and I dye 100% woollen yarns with plants - mostly from my garden and allotment.
I also design folk-inspired knitting and sewing patterns, and run workshops to help others to build confidence with thoughtfully creating their own clothes.
I love creating beautiful and robust patterns for sewing. They're also practical pieces, inspired by traditional folk styles. I want you to be able to have fun creating your homemade wardrobe!
I take huge inspiration from nature and folklore when designing my knitting patterns, often stopping on walks to sketch hedgerows or flower seedheads. I hope they bring you joy as you work the stitches!
I choose high quality, ethically sourced yarn which is spun in Yorkshire and Cornwall. All of my yarn is dyed with natural ingredients, is non-superwash and 100% wool.
Most of the pigments come from plants in my garden or allotment, and the yarn is carefully dyed over a period of weeks for beautiful and lasting colour. I hope you'll love it as much as I do, and make garments that you'll treasure for years to come.
I run seasonal retreats at a historic house in Stroud. Join for a relaxed weekend of crafting, making friends and enjoying the stunning Cotswold surroundings. I also run local sewing workshops.
Some of you might know me from Fibre Valley Art! I paint little scenes inspired by fibre arts and the ordinary joys of home - I hope they bring you joy and a sense of contentment.
