Hello, I'm Lorna. I'm a knitter, sewist and natural dyer living in the West of the UK. I'm passionate about working with natural fibres, and I dye 100% woollen yarns with plants - mostly from my garden and allotment.
I also design folk-inspired knitting and sewing patterns, and run workshops to help others to build confidence with thoughtfully creating their own clothes.
Nothing I saw in the shops felt like me - it seemed disconnected from my life. My clothes need to be practical, but also make me feel excited! I'm inspired by the land around me, with a little bit of folklore worked in too.
I want to share my passion for thoughtful making - creating quality garments that value natural resources and avoid overconsumption.
If you want to build confidence with sewing and make your own beautiful, practical clothes, have a look at my patterns or consider joining me for a retreat or workshop here in Stroud.
I dye 100% wool yarn with natural ingredients, using sustainable methods.
The yarns are beautiful and robust. I hope you'll like them as much as I do, and treasure your makes for years to come. They've been chosen and designed with practical use in mind.

Some of you might know me from Fibre Valley Art.
I'm also an illustrator, and I love to paint scenes of knitting, sewing and quilting.
I create cosy illustrations inspired by fibre and the beautiful Stroud valleys, and print them onto r
