I'm so excited to be hosting the first Thread and Yarn sewing retreat this May. Join me for a weekend of sewing, homegrown food and fibre kinship at an 18th century house in Stroud.
Two or three day sewing retreats, with the option to book accommodation. Join me for small group teaching, seasonal food and beautiful surroundings.
One day workshops - more suitable if you're local to Stroud and would prefer a day workshop to a whole retreat.
Get in touch if you'd like to book one-to-one or small group sewing sessions with me in the Cotswold area!
I'm so excited to be hosting the first Thread and Yarn sewing retreat this May. Join me in Stroud for a weekend of sewing, homegrown food and fibre kinship, nestled in the beautiful Cotswold hills.
I've chosen the Zero Waste Gather Dress by Birgitta Helmersson. It's size inclusive, has relaxed shaping and covers some core sewing skills. It's also a very adaptable pattern. (Pattern is included in price).
You'll learn how to make your own dress and build confidence with using a sewing machine.
The retreat will be well-paced to allow for a range of abilities, including time to rest and reflect on your making - with lots of tea and cake! There will be a home-cooked lunch on both days, using ingredients from my organic kitchen garden and allotment.
Enjoy a break in the garden if we're blessed with spring sunshine, or cosy up with a coffee next to one of the wood-burning stoves.
Bring your own fabric, buttons and matching thread. I'll bring extra thread and haberdashery in case you run out.
My lovely friend Lucia is offering a limited* number of rooms in her historic house, where we're hosting the retreat. There are a range of room sizes and prices. There's also the option to camp in the gardens in a beautiful and cosy bell tent with a wood burner.
Homemade breakfast included. You can also choose to extend your stay for a holiday in the Cotswolds.
Scroll through the photos below, and find more details and a video on the booking page.
*If the rooms are sold out, there are other lovely places to stay in Stroud. Have a look at AirBNB and ask me if you have any questions.
You'll make your own quilted waistcoat, learning how to sew a simple garment, quilt layers together and finish with bound edges. There are multiple closure options, and you can choose from a cropped or full length version.
Beginner friendly and a good way to build confidence with your sewing machine and dress-making.
If you're looking for more of a challenge, you can try sewing bound pockets, making your vest reversible and adding cute little button loops for the closure.
Have a look at my pattern for more details.
10am to 3:30pm
£80*
*Physical pattern included. You'll need to bring your own fabric. I'll email you with the details in advance, but you can also find yardage details on my pattern.
